Superb service, far cheaper than the local camera shop could offer (via Panasonic). This meant that it was worth repairing my trusty simple digital camera, rather than buy a new one. A new one was tempting (!) but reviews said that the newer models were not a patch on the old lens system of my model, so I decided against that option.
The issue was that dust within the lens system was visible in photos. To start with it was only with the highest zoom facility, but then it became generalised, so the camera was almost unusable .
1st aid Repairs were easy to deal with by phone and by email, and offer a superb safe return system. I trust them completely and am pleased to write this review of recommendation.
Excellent people to deal with. I was notified at every stage of the process regarding a repair to my camera. After posting the item to 1st Aid Repairs I was informed they had received it and passed it on to a technician, the next day they phoned me to say the repair had been carried out at the price quoted. The repaired camera was then sent back to me via a courier service and I received it the following day. The Lady who contacted me also phoned me on the day of delivery to make sure I didn't miss the courier as I work nights and may have been sleeping. That is great service in my book.
After struggling to find anyone locally to repair the damaged charging socket on our TomTom we finally contacted 1st Aid Repairs in Kent. Although being told repeatedly by local repairers that no one would be able to repair our older model TomTom 1st Aid Repairs carried out the repairs and returned our sat nav in working order. They kept us informed every step of the way and we can't thank them enough. Great communication, excellent repair and our TomTom was well packaged on return.
We can't thank all the team at 1st Aid Repair enough and will be recommending to all our friends.
1st aid fixed my Canon camcorder. The unit refused to eject the mini tape ( yes, it's That Old!) whilst I was out in the Carribean. New one required? No at reasonable expense, they did their thing, as per estimate, as per their schedule and safely back to me. Even the carriers said " within 1 1/2 hrs and arrived 3/4 hr later. TOP Marks 1st aid I have now scanned my precious footage and look forward to many more happy Canon hours, safe in the knowledge that I don't need a new one because my pals are there for me.

My E-M1 had developed a fault with the lever function … not a terminal or major problem and was still working perfectly … However, as I had decided that I was not going to upgrade to the mark ii as I really don't like the flip out screen and am not interested in video; therefore, decided to get my trusty E-M1 checked over and possibly even get the lever function fault rectified ???
After 10 working days I was contacted by the technician, stating that my camera had been serviced and the lever fault rectified. I got it back the next day VERY securely packaged and looking and feeling like new … Very pleased indeed :-D
From my initial enquiry it was obvious that I was dealing with people who knew what they were doing. Ashly, who took my call, diagnosed what the probable cause of the problem was, how much it would cost, how long it would take and then e-mailed me an invoice with an address label for me to send the item to them. It was all done very speedily and courteously. True to her assessment the trouble was as she suspected and it was returned to me in a very short time. I was very impressed with the sheer professionalism of the whole operation and I would not hesitate to recommend 1STAID REPAIRS based on my experience.
Thank you very much for the excellent work you did on my camera. This was an old camera that had a mark on the lens making it unusable. You managed to find a suitable replacement in excellent condition and replaced it in the short period stated. You also provided excellent feedback by checking with me on a potential problem, not your fault, that you was able to sort out for me at no extra charge. On top of this the repair charge was very reasonable and the camera returned by free courier.
(Actual E-Mail of Nov 25th, 2015) Hello again 1st Aid Repairs
I received the 'Sony' HDV-A1 video camera back today, and should just like to say, that from Start to Finish, I have been Super Impressed with your service, prompt attention, and actual repairs! Also the first port of call as your internet page, I found to be mighty impressive with Clearly Detailed procedures etc. When service is this Exceptional, I don't think it hurts to let people know...
All the Best, and Thanks again
Yours Sincerely, David Okangba
I don't usually write reviews but thought I would because I was a little hesitant to use 1st aid repairs due to a dearth of information online about them. Now I have used them, I would recommend the company strongly.
I had attempted and failed to fix my 16-50mm Sony E-type lens as the barrel mechanism had jammed and the camera didn't recognise it. Unlike Sony, who ridiculously refused to give me any kind of estimate without charging me £55 to inspect it, 1st aid repairs confirmed over email that they should be able to fix it based on my description and charged me £66 all in, including courier return, confirming it would only be £15 to inspect if they needed to revise the estimate and I would want it returned without fixing. Lens works again and the service was courteous, efficient and prompt. If I have a problem again I would definitely go here over the official Sony service.
I have not written a review before but i feel that i must write one about 1st Aid Repair. What an excellent service you have given me from both Debbie and Reeve the technician. My sat nav was completely not working and i use it all of the time not only in the UK but abroard transporting horses here, there and everywhere.I sent my sat nav to you after getting a very reasonable quote and was informed that you thought you could not only repair it but also update the maps of all of Europe. This you did for me and after i explained that i was desperate to get it back you fast tracked the repair and also the return to myself.I sent it to yourselves on the Monday and received the repaired sat nav back to me on the Friday and with a new screen that i was not charged for. What an EXCELLENT company and service you provide for repairs of electronic equipment and at very reasonable prices. Thank you once again.
