Had a really nice evening here. Staff are attentive but not in your face. Some of best food I have ever had. Really upmarket but very approachable too.
We go out for what we hoped to be a lovely meal but turns into a evening of pain.
After receiving our starters and the complimentary rock solid bread, after 1 bite it breaks my front tooth in half. Arguable annoyed, I tell the staff, they go on to give me a card so I can speak to their insurance and the manager promised me they will pay my dental bill.
Still having to pay full price for the food which came to £50 (food was average at best) my dental bill came to £300. After receiving the treatment they have the cheek to tell me they're not negligible so won't be paying me a dime. I'm sorry but what is £300 to a restaurant who charge £70 for a steak?
Not thinking of the customer one bit, just thinking about keeping their pennies for themselves. Utter disgrace from this so called respectable establishment.
Cafe 21 is a city centre restaurant with a city centre buzz. In the heart of Newcastle s Quayside, Cafe 21 has an excitement and warmth all of its own. Smart but not stuffy, sleek but not pretentious, fun but not gimmicky, it's about eating good food in comfortably stylish surroundings. Cafe 21's food is big on flavour, short on fussiness - fresh, seasonal ingredients are treated with flair and passion: classic bistro dishes, a little comfort food and still room for pudding. The style is sharp, the mood relaxed.
