" ordered our cupboards end of may- had them fitted in July - the main issue - we had 4 rooms fitted by hammonds and each room had an issue. two rooms have doors that are fitted badly - squeaks everytime we open it and doesnt shut properly - one door is fitted wrongly so again doesnt close properly. fitter wa supposed to rectify end of august. took the day off work and he never showed up. had to call him to find out whats going on and then he says he was busy. wasted a day off work. second time he was to come over he said the door was damaged and a new one is ordered. end of october and still no solution to our issues. worse of all our newly decorate house has been damaged by hammonds - our walls and ceilings - had makrs, dents and even chipped walls due to their fitters . have called several times to rectify our situation keep being told they will call back or a manager will call within 24 hours . 1 month later still no call. emailed. calls. still no response. hammonds if you read this feel free to sort [...read more] "

" This is the first time we had used Hammonds and will be the last time.I took time off work on the agreed fitting date we were called 15 minutes before the fitter was due to be told he would not be turning up. Hammond just stated that they had the right to cancel at any time. The fitting was then arranged for 3 weeks later over a weekend only to be told by the fitter when he called that he does not work on Sundays. When he did start not all the parts had been delivered so he could not finish the installation. We then had to wait a further two weeks and another weekend to complete. Even then not all the parts had been delivered and had to be ordered another 2 weeks. Once he had finally completed the installation we found a chip on one of the doors which I believe the fitter was hoping we would not find. The door was reordered but the wrong size was delivered. The customer service we received from Hammond was appalling they just seem to have a hard luck you will just have to wait attitude.they would not reply to complaint emails sent all we received from them was a threatening letter if we did not pay the final payment. They did not arrive had to go out Saturday and they tried to deliver them. Went and collected them today and guess what they are the correct colour. " The designer got an important measurement wrong, the surveyor did not pick up on it. The fitter fitted the carcases and it was obvious there was a problem with the wardrobe which would prevent me hanging curtains. The fitter called the office and a work around was suggested and agreed. This meant two new wardrobe doors would have to be ordered. I was promised these doors the following week but the fitter did not turn up. The fitter did not even answer or return my calls. I called head office. The fitter promised to turn up at another agreed time but of course he didn't. I made several calls and some texts to the fitter which were not answered. I made calls to the Head Office who, to be fair, did their best for me. Ultimately it took three weeks for my installation to be completed. They won't even provide a small token of compensation for the stress, messing around and having to wait at home for a fitter to turn up on three occasions.
